Little cardinal is perched on a branch of a winter tree admiring the snow covered landscape. Fabric requirements: background - 1/2 yd of white or muslin, outer border - 1/2 yd of wintry print, inner border - 1/4 yd of blue, binding - 1/4 yd of deep blue, backing - 1 yd, appliqué details - pieces no larger than 1/3 yd of various shades of blue, green, brown and red. Additional materials needed: lightweight batting - 29" x 32"; lightweight fusible web - 1 1/2 yd; appliqué pressing sheet; stabilizer; and an assortment of threads.
