This fine batting from Australia is made from 60% premium wool and 40% polyester giving it a softer hand and higher loft. Matilda's Own has a heat retention rating of R0.2, and will absorb up to 30% of it's own weight in moisture. It has been antibacterially treated, and can be machine washed on gentle/wool cycle, drip dry after squeeze or spin dry. Quilt 8 - 10" apart. Needle punched through a very fine scrim to lock fibers in place and stop bearding. No resins, sprays, glues or bonding agents are used in manufacturing. Excellent for machine or hand quilting. Wool batting clings to the fabric in the basting process and does not move around a lot - high loft results in greater sculptural dimensions in your quilting. Great for keeping warm in chilly climates. Pre-washed and pre-shrunk, with 2-2.5% shrinkage, machine washable, permanently moth proofed.
