Any of you get hit by these eclipses this month? We are having an unusual
trio of eclipses – August 7, August 21 and September 6. Usually there are 2
pairs of eclipses a year, a Solar and Lunar eclipse each time. On September 6th we will
have the 3rd eclipse on the Full Moon in Pisces. I have had plenty of people calling,
asking “what the heck is going on in my chart?” One friend/client called from
London after having a concussion on the first eclipse. Personally, I tend to lay low on
eclipses, especially if they are hitting my chart. I stayed home August 7th because it was
hitting my ascendant. I still managed to have an accident: I dropped a piece of furniture
(a TV) and made a hole in the wall. Better the wall than my head, I guess. When you have
an annual astrology reading, it is good to ask your astrologer to check how the eclipses
may or may not impact your life. Neptune enters Capricorn (retrograde)
Aug. 22. Saturn enters Aries (retrograde) Oct 25. Saturn square Neptune Oct 31. Two
planets are retrograding back into signs that don’t accommodate them too well.
In fact all three of these events are about conflicting energies. The
dreaminess of Neptune has to go back and learn some practical lessons in Capricorn. Rigid
Saturn is having to rerun the spontaneous Aries movie. And to top it all off, grounded
businesslike Saturn is in conflict (square) with idealistic mystical Neptune. What is
going on here? This is not about polarization of the two opposites, but rather a forced
lesson of integrating both aspects into one reality. You will see it on an individual and
global level, particularly the end of October. That happens to be right before elections,
so I expect some very interesting political events to be occurring at that time. (You mean
it’s going to get MORE interesting???) On an individual level, the metaphysical New
Age folks who have not grounded their spiritual beliefs in reality will have some rude
awakenings. Conversely, the scientific/skeptical/left-brained types will have experiences
that force them to acknowledge the presence of Neptune’s energy in their lives –
even if it is only to learn about compassion and surrender. We are all expanding
to embrace more and more of this intricately interlaced reality. We cannot deny
big chunks of it anymore, our lives just won’t work anymore like that.
